Empower Yourself for Success with the Power Pose

Body language affects how others see us, and it can also change how we see ourselves.  Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” — standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel confident — can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

I had an important sales meeting recently and watched this video and practiced the power pose and I can tell you that I felt ready for that presentation and really rocked it.

Amy Cuddy’s strategy can be applied in almost any situation in your life or business or where you need to increase your confidence and have a power boost.  Try this next time you have to give a talk or a presentation and see if it doesn’t work for you like it worked for me.

What a great, presentation, Julia! I’m thinking of quite a few situations where practicing that power pose may come in handy :-).

It really does work Nanette. Sort of like a quick yoga move, it gets the energy flowing and sets up a positive mindset. Thank you for reading and leaving your comment.
