7 Inspirational Quotes From Walt Disney About Entrepreneurship: Lesson 18 in the Empowering Young Entrepreneurs Series

Whew, we’ve reached day 18 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge.  We’ve considered skills, qualities and tools that young entrepreneurs need to develop an entrepreneur mindset.  I thought for today it would be nice to have a little inspiration before we transition into talking about building a dream business.

I turned to Walt Disney to provide that inspiration today.  Walt Disney has always been a role model for me; he helped me learn that I should dream big and have confidence in my dreams.

Here are 7 statements that he has made based upon his own experience in making his dreams come true with the Walt Disney empire.

Somehow I can’t believe there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C’s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy and the greatest of these is Confidence. When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.”

**

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

**

All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me… You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.”

**

You reach a point where you don’t work for money.”

**

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

**

Of all the things I’ve done, the most vital is coordinating those who work with me and aiming their efforts at a certain goal.”

**

It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”

**

I hope you are feeling inspired by Walt Disney’s words.

Thank you Monick. I always admired Walt Disney. It blows me away when I consider what he built in this world because he believed in his dreams.

‘When you believe a thing, believe it all the way . . .’ – I so love this quote. As entrepreneurs we need to have that determination and belief in ourselves and what we are doing to know we’ll reach our goals and achieve our successes when the world around stares at defeat and failure.

That’s what’s so great about those in the blogging challenge – we’re amongst that group of people that choose to believe and believe all the way. 🙂

You’ve shared some great quotes from a man that demonstrated massive success in his actions – what an example we have to follow.

Thanks again Julia

It was my pleasure to share the wisdom of Mr. Disney. I’m gratified that people enjoyed the quotes. I wasn’t sure how that was going to go over as a blog post. The people participating in the challenge blow me away. This challenge is not easy, it’s very time consuming and yet so many people are so committed. Thank you for reading and for your comments.

Maybe getting people to test themselves against old Walt’s statements is a way for you to see – and them to know – whether they’re going to cut it as entrepreneurs. It’s not for everyone.

Having fun doing the impossible is my favorite – but there comes a time in any project, when there’s self-doubt. I sort of think self-doubt should be there, just in the same way it’s good for even the seasoned performer to feel a little nervous before going on stage. But it’s then how you handle it .. the nervousness and the doubt. Can you still go on to give a great performance?

Self-doubt is always with us I think. It’s a matter of whether we let the fear that fuels it be bigger than our dreams. That’s why I included this statement: “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

And I do agree that not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur. My mission is not so much to create entrepreneurs as it is to provide young people with the means to develop that mindset and have the tools they need to try it if they feel so inclined. The mindset will serve them well in life even if they work for someone else. Sometimes it’s essential to work for someone else as a way to learn the skills in your field that will need to start your own business.

I just want to be able to say I did what I could to give young people a fighting chance in this world.

Thank you as always for reading my writing and sharing your thoughts.

Julia, I really like Disney’s statement, “When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.” I know that this is true. Also the comment, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them” is so powerful. Believe in yourself and have the courage to pursue.
Thanks for what you do!!!

Thank you Dave. For many of my clients, Disney’s list of 4 Cs, courage, confidence, creativity and constancy are in short supply. It’s my mission to help them reach deep inside of themselves to find those things.

I appreciate your comments and your support.

I’m happy I was able to find some you hadn’t seen before Nanette. Yay! Disney is a great role model and a fine example of a man who spent everyday doing what he loved. And he made a ton of money from it and gave joy to untold numbers of people. What a legacy.
